Why RESCAPE?

We aim to build a healthy and fulfilled community

RESCAPE /rəˈskāp/

Verb

  1. Escape

  2. Restore

We offer RESCAPE as a gift to those of you who are dedicating your careers to addressing the most pressing social and environmental issues that our society is facing.

Social service workers, community organizers, and environmental activists are important resources, and often not recognized for their value. They offer support and services that meet the needs of the most vulnerable members of our society, often in all-consuming and unpredictable work environments, as  the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us.

We have experienced and witnessed far too often that, in light of these pressing issues, our work environments leave many of us depleted and discouraged, to the extent that they take a toll on our physical and mental health. This concerns us, both for the health and wellness of our colleagues, and also because we know that these pressing issues need to be addressed.

What would happen if most of our social and environmental warriors had to quit? There will be little hope for a better future.

It is time to connect, find better ways of working and being, and take care of each other.

Through RESCAPE you can:

Learn from a community of peers, passionate about creating healthier and more fulfilling ways of working and being;

Explore activities and inspiring ways to restore, rest, and find renewed energy to continue your work;

Receive inspiration from creatives dedicating their art and music to encourage a community of social and environmental activists;

Engage and re-activate your passion by connecting with others who are working on the issues that are important to you and your community

“You are on a great journey. Enjoy it. It is a gift to be alive, and capable of creating positive change, however grand or humble”

— Stephen Legault
